District 4 – Green Jacket Academy

Welcome to the 4-H Green Jacket Academy application process!

The purpose of this leadership development opportunity is to provide support for 4-H members in District IV as they become confident men and women in the community. This is an initiative of the District IV 4-H Leaders for Life Committee aimed at growing participation in the 4-H Leadership Project.

The goal of the 4-H GJA is for members to take what they have learned back to their local club or county, so strengthen local leadership qualities.

Academy members will participate in virtual educational sessions to strengthen their understanding of leadership, gain knowledge on parliamentary procedure and serve their local community. As a member of the 4-H Green Jacket Academy you will be held accountable for:

  • Attending virtual educational sessions held from January 12th to February 4th (6:45 p.m. to 8:00 on Tuesday and Thursday)
  • Complete course assignments prior to class, so you are ready to discuss what you learned
  • Work with your County Extension Agent to educate other youth in your county
  • Coordinate with other Academy Members from your county to do a Service Learning Project.
